Mastery Focused Issue: Planning for Greater Depth
We are very excited to offer schools the opportunity to participate in this popular and successful workgroup focused on considering how to provide opportunities for all children to work at a Greater Depth than the expected standard for their age group. It will focus on developing teachers’ understanding of how to facilitate activities and questions in order to ensure that there is sufficient challenge for those children who are ready for it within the Teaching for Mastery context.
This project will involve three full days of professional development for two delegates: the school’s Maths Leader/Coordinator along with another teacher. Workshops will focus on task design and planning to support children to work at a greater depth; gap tasks between workshops will allow teachers to focus on trialling and implementing tasks and activities within their own school’s context.
