The Zero pair ( A concrete-pictorial-abstract approach)
Come and see how you could use the idea of a zero pair to help students improve fluency with negative numbers, simplifying expressions and solving equations.
This approach will allow students to develop their own schemas of knowledge and see the mathematics before working in the abstract domain.

Effective Scaffolding and Cognitive Load in Mathematics
Find out what Cognitive Load Theory is all about, how to use it and how to effective scaffold support to help boost attainment (or progress).
